A recreational management organization in Ogden, Utah seeks a Basketball Official Trainer to educate and develop basketball officials. The role includes training on rules and game management, developing training programs, and promoting professionalism. Candidates should have three years of experience as a basketball official and maintain a UHSAA certification. Evening work may be required.
Under the general guidance and direction of the Recreation Manager or Night Supervisor, performs a variety of duties involved in training basketball officials for competition games at county facilities.

Education: No specific education requirements.
Experience: Three years of experience as a basketball official.
Knowledge of: basketball rules, regulations, and procedures is required.
Skills and Abilities: excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to effectively explain concepts and provide constructive feedback to trainees and existing officials. Ability to motivate officials while creating a positive and encouraging learning environment to help officials develop their skills. Ability to analyze situations, identify areas for improvement, and develop solutions. Ability to solve problems, stay calm under pressure, and handle high pressure situations is important.
Maintain a current UHSAA certification throughout duration of employment as a trainer. Must possess a valid Utah Driver’s License and have a good driving record. Must have a telephone. Must be willing to work evenings. Due to the nature of this position, the successful candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment background check prior to starting the position.
