Job summary

BROOKINGS SCHOOL DISTRICT 5-1 is seeking an Assistant Coach for high school and middle school teams, focused on instructing students in sports fundamentals and strategies. The role includes maintaining discipline and collaboration with the head coach to ensure a successful sports program.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid South Dakota teaching certificate and have previous coaching experience. This position offers an opportunity to develop young athletes in a supportive environment at Mickelson Middle School.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid South Dakota teaching certificate and coaching endorsement.
• Must have completed the SDHSAA Coaches Education Program.
• Previous experience as a teacher or assistant is preferred.
• Coaching experience in the relevant sport is desired.

Responsibilities

• Instructs athletes in sports fundamentals and strategies.
• Maintains discipline and morale within the team.
• Assists in the organization of practices and events.
• Works cooperatively with athletic support staff.

Skills
