Role Details
Weekly Working Hours & OT:
Mon to Thursday 06:30-17:00. 40 min break. O/T at x1.225 first 9.5 hours worked, x 1.4 after 9.5 hours worked. Overtime will not come into effect until your first full working week.
Key Responsibilities
- Always Work safely, protecting yourself, coworkers, the public, and future users of the scaffold structure in line with relevant industry standards, site procedures, and legal requirements.
- Select and use scaffold tubes, boards, and fittings that are in good condition and suitable for the task.
- Assemble and install prefabricated beams and components as part of scaffold structures.
- Position and erect hoists and hoist towers correctly and safely.
- Install and support protective fans and similar safety features as required.
- Erect scaffolds in public or high-traffic areas in accordance with site rules and local regulations.
- Install structural supports such as spurs and rakers at the correct angles, and fit associated components in the correct positions.
- Erect cantilever and truss-out scaffolds, applying appropriate counterbalance and safety measures to prevent instability or overturning.
- Install anchor ties and specialist fixings in accordance with manufacturer guidance and project requirements, including testing and reporting where required.
- Select and install the correct type and number of ties to ensure scaffold stability, whether sheeted or unsheeted.
- Calculate and prepare the materials required to safely erect and dismantle various scaffold types, including:
- Scaffolds with prefabricated beams
- Hoist towers
- Cantilever scaffolds
- Truss-out scaffolds
- Protective fans
- Pavement gantries
- Roof stack scaffolds
- Roof saddle scaffolds
- Read and interpret basic scaffold drawings and plans.
- Work in accordance with risk assessments, method statements, and site safety documentation.
- Dismantle scaffolds safely and in the correct sequence as part of a team.
- Organize personnel and materials when leading a small team carrying out scaffolding operations.
- Follow all project standards, safety rules, and site procedures.
- Comply with company policies regarding timekeeping, breaks, and attendance.
Key Requirements
- Scaffolders must hold a current CISRS Scaffolders card.
- Relevant site safety certification or training.
- At least 1 year of experience working as a scaffolder in a construction or industrial environment preferred.
- They must have received SG4 (Latest edition) training and work in compliance with the guidance.
- They can only work under the direct supervision of either a CISRS Scaffolder or CISRS Advanced Scaffolder at all time.
- An operative is considered a Trainee Scaffolder until they have completed all requisite training and assessment up to and including, CISRS Part 2, S/NVQ 2, H&S testing and hold a CISRS Scaffolder Card, regardless of their time in the industry.
