Nemours is seeking a Medical Assistant/Basic Machine Operator (Urgent Care - Lake Nona) to join our Nemours Children's Health team.

**$3,500 Sign-on Bonus offered (external applicants only)**

Nemours pediatric urgent care centers provide a kid-friendly, family-centered experience for families seeking urgent care services at night and on weekends. With three centers conveniently located in the greater Orlando area, we deliver exceptional Nemours care to families where - and when - they need it most.

The Nemours Children's Urgent Care Medical Assistant/Basic Machine Operator, as assigned by the Operations Manager or AVP, ensures clinical support to the urgent care division. This position works as part of a team in planning and achieving both clinical and organizational goals and objectives. The role complements the individual's current responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

1. Patient flow management:
   • Provides quality patient care:
   • Obtains vital signs and anticipates patient and provider needs.
   • Conducts pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of laboratory procedures.
   • Performs clinic procedures within scope of practice.
   • Provides aftercare instructions.
   • Discharges/transfers patients.
2. Cross-training as a Urgent Care unit coordinator:
   • Proficient in all unit coordinator responsibilities.
   • Provides cross-coverage routinely.
3. Radiology and patient care equipment:
   • Responsible for operation and care of all radiology and patient care equipment as needed.
   • Performs, develops, and delivers radiology images according to protocol.
   • Transmits radiology images for radiologist review.
   • Releases radiology images to patients for follow-up care.
   • Familiar with digitizing room procedures.
4. Maintains inventory, stocks supplies, and ensures cleanliness of designated work areas.
5. Ensures all emergency equipment and supplies are available and operational, and knows procedures for equipment failure.
6. Assists with cleaning of the site, including trash, bathrooms, floors, and patient rooms.
7. Attends training sessions and meetings as required.
8. Assists with follow-up phone calls from the previous day.
9. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma required.
• Additional specialized training (at least 1 year beyond high school).
• One (1) year of pediatric Medical Assistance experience or equivalent required.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification.
• State of Florida BMO Certification.
• Willingness to travel to all urgent care locations.
