Job summary

The City of Peoria Parks and Recreation Department is hiring for multiple field maintenance roles ranging from entry-level to skilled positions. These positions support professional baseball field preparation and turf maintenance for Neighborhood Parks, Community Parks, and the Peoria Sports Complex.

Ideal candidates will have a basic understanding of field maintenance, strong communication, and flexibility for a 20-25 hour workweek, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of field maintenance practices and following standard procedures/written instructions.
• Strong communication and ability to interact with facility users and team personnel.
• Interest in a flexible, part-time schedule of approximately 20-25 hours per week.
• Ability to work varied schedules, including nights and weekends, depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain professional baseball fields, facilities, and amenities using hand and power tools.
• Assist with field reconditioning (mounds, home plates, base paths, infield edges).
• Paint fields including foul lines and logos.
• Perform general maintenance tasks (leaf removal, dugout cleaning, litter control).
• Assist with application of drying materials and tarps during inclement weather.
• Perform general facility cleaning.
