Job summary

City of League City is seeking a dedicated Ballpark Maintenance worker to care for municipal baseball and softball fields, athletic complexes, and park facilities. The role supports games, practices, tournaments, and special events with field prep, groundskeeping, custodial tasks, and general operations.

Preferred candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and be able to obtain a Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required.
Candidate must possess or be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license.
Ability to safely operate assigned vehicles, tools and equipment after training.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

Prepare baseball and softball fields for games, practices, and events (dragging, chalking, setting bases).
Inspect surfaces and correct holes, standing water, and unsafe conditions.
Perform routine turf and grounds maintenance (mowing, edging, trimming, debris removal).
Assist with irrigation maintenance and identify leaks or drainage issues.
Perform basic maintenance on fences, gates, bleachers, and restrooms.
Clean and maintain public spaces and park facilities.
Operate equipment such as tractors, mowers, and power tools.
Assist with event setup and cleanup, including barricades and tables.
