Job summary

Highlands Sports Complex is seeking a part-time Baseball Coach to support youth programs and manage daily activities at the Highlands Sports Complex in Triadelphia, WV.

You will work with the sports operations team, assist in game setup, schedule staff for leagues and events, and provide a quality participant experience. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Must have experience working with youth sports as a coach, league administrator or event coordinator.
• Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to remain calm and provide friendly service in a busy setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Sports Programs with administrative tasks for leagues and programs.
• Set up play areas and equipment for activities.
• Schedule staffing to run sports programming and events.
• Coordinate and lead game support staff (scorekeepers, clock operators, etc.).
• Complete daily assignments and special projects as needed.
• Provide courteous service to guests and staff at all times.
• Interact with the public about leagues, programs, and events.
• Help enforce facility policies and procedures with staff.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sports Operations Team Member will be responsible for a variety of sports duties dependant upon the sports program need for the day, providing participants a quality program experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include:

• Assist Director of Sports Programs in various administrative responsibilities for leagues and other sports' programming
• Assist in set-up of all play areas
• Arrange for and schedule appropriate staffing to implement sports programming in assigned sports and activities
• Coordinate and lead game support staffing (scorekeepers, game clock operators, etc.)
• Complete special projects, daily assignments and other duties as needed
• Provide courteous and friendly service to all guests and staff
• Interact with the public regarding various aspects of leagues, programs, and events
• Work with other facility staff to resolve guest concerns and complaints
• Assist facility staff in understanding and enforcing the facility's policies, and procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have the ability to work with a wide variety of ages
• Must having experience in working with youth sports as a coach, league administrator or event coordinator
• Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays and long hours) and regular attendance necessary
• Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Must have excellent guest service skills
• Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Ability to remain calm and focused in difficult and stressful situations
• Must be respectful and friendly to our athletes, guests, visitors, spectators, leaders and fellow Team Members
• Commitment to the safety and wellbeing of others

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to lift 40 pounds waist high
• Will be required to stand for extended periods of time
• Able to enter information on computers
• Facility has intermittent noise
