Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Building Automation Systems Technician to operate and optimize hospital BAS, ensuring reliable HVAC and energy management in critical spaces. You will collaborate with Plant Operations, Facilities Management and clinical teams to support safe, compliant environments.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in BAS with BACnet/Modbus/IP networks and experience with Siemens/Johnson Controls/Honeywell/Schneider platforms, plus strong troubleshooting and communication

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HVAC, Electrical Tech, Building Automation or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 3–5 years of experience with BAS and controls.
• Working knowledge of HVAC/electrical systems and control sequences.
• Experience with BAS platforms (Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Schneider, etc.).
• Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, IP-based control networks.
• Ability to read mechanical/electrical/control drawings.
• Experience in acute-care hospital environments and healthcare compliance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, and maintain the hospital BAS.
• Troubleshoot and repair control systems and devices.
• Optimize HVAC performance for patient spaces and critical care areas.
• Support operating rooms, pharmacies, labs, and sterile processing.
• Respond to BAS alarms and implement corrective actions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on BAS hardware and software.
