Role Description

The BAS Service Technician / Programmer is a full-time, on-site role located in Baltimore, MD. This role is responsible for installing, programming, commissioning, and servicing building automation systems, with a focus on HVAC controls and related equipment. Daily tasks include configuring control sequences, troubleshooting system performance issues, performing preventative maintenance, and responding to service calls to ensure reliable building operation. The role also includes providing user training, maintaining detailed service records, and supporting continuous improvement of building health, comfort, and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess hands-on programming experience with Tridium Niagara N4 (certification strongly preferred), along with a background programming major BAS platforms such as Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Distech, or Automated Logic, etc.

• Candidates should possess skills in BAS programming and configuration, including creating and modifying control sequences, setting up user interfaces, and integrating sensors and devices.
• Candidates should possess skills in diagnostics and troubleshooting, including interpreting control logic, analyzing system trends, and resolving hardware and software issues.
• Candidates should possess skills in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings, control schematics, and technical documentation.
• Candidates should possess skills in customer communication and collaboration, including explaining technical concepts clearly and working effectively with building owners, operators, and project teams.
• Relevant qualifications include experience in commercial or institutional HVAC and controls, a technical diploma or associate degree in a related field, and familiarity with energy management and indoor air quality concepts.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include knowledge of networking basics for BAS, comfort with field tools and test equipment, a strong safety mindset, and readiness to work on-site in mechanical rooms and occupied spaces.
