Job summary

CMS Controls Ohio is seeking a Level 2 Controls Service Technician to perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC control networks. This role demands deep knowledge of control logic, electrical schematics, and network protocols.

You will mentor Level 1 technicians, diagnose complex system issues, support commissioning and start-up, and communicate with clients to ensure peak performance, reliability, and energy efficiency across

Qualifications

3–5 years direct experience as a Controls Service Technician or HVAC Service Technician with controls exposure.
Strong understanding of DDC control logic, programming fundamentals, and control signals.
Advanced mechanical HVAC knowledge and ability to read electrical schematics.
Proficient with low/medium/line voltage electrical systems and VFDs.
Solid IP networking knowledge within BAS environments.
Experience with major BAS platforms (Niagara, Distech, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider).
Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in varied environments.

Responsibilities

Advanced system diagnostics and troubleshooting of BAS and HVAC systems.
System optimization, calibration, and commissioning support.
Programming and configuring DDC platforms and graphics.
Electrical work across 24VAC/DC to 480V with NEC compliance.
Customer interaction and relationship management with clear technical explanations.
Mentorship and documentation of service activities and performance data.
