Job summary

ControlsJobs in Pasadena, CA seeks a Stationary Controls Technician to monitor and troubleshoot building automation systems in a large campus environment. The role focuses on alarm management, chiller control, and front-end Niagra workflows, with 2 openings on 1st shift (7:30AM-3:30PM).

Ideal candidates will have hands-on BAS experience, able to read Niagara block programming, and perform point-to-point commissioning, installs/start-ups, and sequence rewrites.

Qualifications

• Experience with building automation controls, including troubleshooting and commissioning.
• Ability to read BAS programming and Niagara block logic.
• Strong problem-solving skills and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Controls Console monitoring and alarm response.
• Troubleshooting and upgrading controllers, replacing Tridium JACEs.
• Performing point-to-point commissioning and start-up activities.
• Rewriting sequences and maintaining building automation systems.

Stationary Controls Technician - Pasadena, CA

The campus is in Pasadena, CA and is about 2.5 million square feet with more than 200 buildings. The position would be a part of the Controls Operating division, which is about 5-6 people.

There are 2 Openings during the 1st Shift (7:30AM-3:30PM).

INTERVIEW PROCESS

• Phone Screen and In-Person Interview

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Controls Console monitoring
• Troubleshooting control systems from when identifying a problem such as seeing an alarm on a chiller
• Watching the alarm Console or responding for alarm occurrences depending upon what job one would currently be working
• Troubleshooting, upgrading controllers, and replacing Tridium JACEs

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Plus (not a requirement) – Certified in Tridium Niagara
• Plus (not a requirement) – Certified in Distech
• Plus (not a requirement) – prior experience working on Tridium Niagara front-end work stations
• Can read/decipher BAS Programming such as understand Tridium Niagara block programming
• Effective problem-solving
• Years of experience as a Controls Technician
