Job summary

Smart Building Technologies, LLC in Owings Mills, MD, is seeking a BAS/Controls Technician & Programmer to design, commission, and optimize building control systems. You will collaborate with engineers and designers to develop commissioning plans, perform pre-installation checks, and test and troubleshoot control sequences.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in HVAC and DDC, understands BAS components and control strategies, and may have Tridium certification or Distech experience.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in an industry-related field (HVAC and DDC)
• Deep understanding of BAS control components, control strategies, and programming
• Tridium certification and Distech experience would be a plus, not required

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare commissioning plans with designers and engineers
• Inspect and verify pre-installation checks to ensure components are correct
• Test and troubleshoot control systems to verify proper operation
• Integrate control components with HVAC systems for optimal performance
• Document commissioning steps and train operators for sustained performance
• Program and innovate with custom control strategies
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure seamless operation
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project managers to execute projects
