Job summary

The University of Virginia, Facilities Management, is seeking a BAS Application Engineer to provide technical expertise and support on building automation systems for mechanical, infrastructure, energy generation and distribution. You will identify, evaluate, implement and program BAS technologies, and make decisions on control system projects including technology choices and programming strategies.

You will apply advanced problem solving and programming knowledge of electronic controllers, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of BAS or related electronics experience.
• 2 years of programming logic experience.
• Preferred: CCST, CEM, or two+ vendor training courses.

Responsibilities

• Develop BAS submittal documents, architecture, programming and graphics for in-house projects.
• Evaluate and implement projects including scope, labor, materials, equipment, software selection and architecture development.
• Provide ongoing BAS technical support for UVA facilities stakeholders.
• Identify and implement best software/hardware technologies to support programming strategies.
• Communicate with project teams to translate BAS design into an operating system.
