Job summary

Geronimo Hospitality Group's Velvet Buffalo in Beloit, WI is seeking a Bartender to deliver memorable experiences. You’ll serve drinks, provide guidance on food and beverage selections, and help create a warm, friendly dining atmosphere.

The role requires classic cocktails experience, strong customer service, and reliable math for handling checks. You’ll work a busy bar, maintain prep and stock, and ensure guests leave with a lasting impression.

Qualifications

• You are 18 years or older.
• Experience in making classic cocktails.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, and count change back to customer).
• Legible handwriting.
• Strong customer service and oral communication skills.
• You hold a valid Operator’s License.

Responsibilities

• Make and serve drinks following established guidelines, procedures and policies regarding beverage and safety controls as prescribed by company standards.
• Properly set up bar, including stocking and batching.
• Control allocated guest checks by following established check-use procedures and legibly documenting all required information as the customer's order is taken and processed.
• Process payments from guests and ensures accuracy of guest check and method of payment in order to safeguard customer and company.
• Complete all prep work prior to bar start time.
• During service, maintain all work areas including any side work duties for overall productivity and success.
• Create a pleasurable dining experience for all of our guests.

YOUR ROLE IN CREATING GERONIMOMENTS

In this role, you’ll be a key part of our team, ensuring that every guest leaves with a lasting impression. Your voice matters here—use it to build the future, make an impact, and continuously improve the guest experience.

As the Bartender, you will serve customers and present great customer service by providing information to help with food and beverage selections, creating and presenting order choices, and maintain a great dining experience by promoting a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Requirements

WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED

• You are 18 years or older
• You have experience in making classic cocktails
• You have basic math skills (must be able to add, subtract, and count change back to customer)
• You have legible handwriting
• You have strong customer service and oral communication skills
• You hold a valid Operator’s License

YOU’LL STAND OUT IF YOU BRING

• You have previous wine experience and/or certification
• You have one year or more of bartending experience

MANDATORY REQUIREMENT

• U.S. Work Authorization (required).
