Job summary

Pier Sixty-Six Resort in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a well-rounded Bartender for The Nectar Room to deliver premium service and craft beverages for a discerning clientele.

Reporting to the outlet GM, you will greet guests, maintain bar knowledge, coordinate with kitchen, manage orders in POS, and uphold safety, cleanliness, and brand standards in a luxury, fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years bartending in fast paced, luxury hospitality operations.
• Passion for mixology with knowledge of classic cocktails, wines, spirits and beers.
• Able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English; strong communication.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs; stand for extended periods.
• TIPS certification or obtain within 30 days of hire; Food Handlers card.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and personalize service; knowledge of products and garnishes.
• Maintain bar inventory, glassware, and garnishes; coordinate with team.
• Serve beverages and food following recipes, portions, and glassware guidelines.
• Enter orders in POS accurately; present checks and process payments.
• Promote safety and maintain cleanliness; uphold health code and resort policies.
• Collaborate with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth service.

We currently have an opportunity for a well-rounded and seasoned Bartender - The Nectar Room to join our Pier Sixty-Six Resort team!

Reporting to the outlet General Manager as Bartender, you will support and provide excellent and personalized service at The Nectar Room. This role requires a passion for mixology, personalized service, and guest engagement offering luxury productsand service, in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete knowledge of all products, brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware, and garnishes available.
• Greet guests promptly with a smile, make eye contact, and use names to personalize service and signal recognition.
• Serve beverages and food in accordance with established guidelines: specified glassware, correct pouring, recipes, measures, and garnishes.
• Prepare and serve beverages in a professional, efficient, and proactive manner.
• Oversee bar maintenance: keep the bar clean and organized; keep glassware, soda, and garnishes stocked; communicate any missing items to management.
• Coordinate food service at the bar with the kitchen, service team, and support team.
• Provide guests dining and drinking at the bar with a great experience while ensuring the service team receives prompt service for table guests.
• Proactively anticipate guest and team needs and make personalized recommendations.
• Enter all orders in the POS immediately and accurately; present accurate checks and fully process payments.
• Serve alcohol responsibly with strict ID verification and measured pours while operating with integrity in all transactions.
• Restock to par levels and notify supervisors immediately of any shortages or out-of-stocks.
• Promote a clean, safe, and supportive work environment in line with health code and resort policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ bartending experience in fast paced, high-end, luxury food & beverage operations
• Energized, enthusiastic, and motivated individual

• Passionate about mixology with a strong knowledge of classic cocktails, wines, spirits, and beers

• Understanding and natural adherence to Brand Values
• Must be able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English

• Must have effective communication skills and know when to ask for help

• Availability to work day shift in to late afternoon/ early evenings on weekends and holidays within hours of operation

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 lbs without assistance

• Able to work in variable indoor/outdoor South Florida conditions and be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to maintain decorum and continue to work well with others in stressful, high-pressure situations

Experience, Education, & Licensure

• High School Diploma or GED recommended.

• Some College experience or Degree recommended.

• TIPS certified or become certified within 30 days of hire.

• Must have a current Food Handlers card.

• Previous bartending experience in a professional setting is preferred.
