Job summary

The Galt House Hotel in Louisville invites an experienced bartender to join Swizzle restaurant, a retro-inspired supper club blending 1940s glamour with modern flair.

You will prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, upsell snacks, and ensure guest satisfaction through attentive service. Flexible nights and weekends required.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending experience required.
• Knowledge of mixology, wines, liquor and cocktails.
• Flexible schedule with nights and weekends availability.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and present beverage menus.
• Check identification of customers.
• Take orders from serving staff or directly from customers.
• Record drink orders accurately into register system.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
• Upsell drinks and snack items.
• Respond promptly to customer requests in a polite, professional manner.
• Balance the cash register at the start and close of each shift.
• Monitor inventory and ensure cleanliness of glasses and bar area.

The legendary Galt House Hotel is currently hiring an experienced bartender for the Swizzle restaurant- retro-inspired supper club blending 1940s glamour with modern flair- to prepare and sever alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages as well as snack items to our patrons; as well as ensuring satisfaction by providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and present beverage menus
• Check identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age
• Take orders from serving staff or directly from customers
• Record drink orders accurately into register system
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes
• Up-sell drinks and snack items
• Respond promptly to requests from customers in a polite and professional fashion
• Attempt to limit problems related to customers' excessive drinking by following established procedures
• Process transactions using the POS system
• Prepare checks for customers and process customer payments
• Ensure clean glasses, bar equipment and working areas
• Comply with all health, safety and hygiene standards and policies
• Balance the cash register at the start and close of each shift
• Monitor inventory

Qualifications

• Previous bartending experience required
• A thorough knowledge of mixology, wines, liquor and cocktails is required.
• A gracious, friendly, patient and helpful attitude towards guests
• Ability to multi-task and work in a very busy environment
• Flexible schedule with full availability on nights and weekends
• Working knowledge of food and beverage laws and regulations
