Position Summary
Under general direction from the Restaurant Services Supervisor, prepares and serves cocktails and other beverages and merchandise to customers or prepares for wait staff, in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner. Accurately execute guest transactions, entering orders, tabulating bills, and receiving guest payment. Ensures customers meet age requirements for the purchase of alcohol products.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Promotes positive customer relations, greets customers, and creates a friendly atmosphere.
- Promotes and documents orders for drinks, reciting selection of all call and premium brands as requested by memory; takes orders from customers in a prompt and friendly manner.
- Inspects menus and special cards daily to ensure they are presented to the guest.
- Prepares all food and/or beverage items using prep sheets and standard ingredient recipes.
- Prepares and serves cocktails and other beverages accurately and without waste according to the customer’s specifications and ABC requirements.
- Inputs orders at the point of sale; creates checks for each customer/party/server; maintains accountability of all beverages served.
- Prepares and displays all food and merchandise in accordance with ServeSafe and other regulatory standards.
- Presents an accurate check to guest in a timely fashion; thanks patrons and invites them to return.
- Cleans up after customers at the bar and maintains an orderly and clean work area at all times.
- Maintains proper and adequate bar setup; washes glassware and utensils after each use.
- Serves food to customers seated at the bar as requested.
- Checks identification and legitimacy of customers to ensure they meet age requirements for alcohol purchase.
- Provides safe and responsible alcohol service by monitoring customer intoxication.
- Ensures display cases and refrigerators are clean and stocked throughout the shift.
- Maintains an organized work area for guest interaction and safety.
- Maintains inventory, supplies, and prepares food based on business volume as directed by Supervisors using par levels.
- Responds to customer questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
- Safeguards casino monies by balancing house bank at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Arranges bottles and glasses to create attractive displays.
- Maintains knowledge of food venues, beverage service, and casino-related information to answer guest questions.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings.
- Follows guidelines on alcohol service, safety, and customer service according to established policies and procedures.
- Contributes to team efforts and accomplishes related results as required.
- Performs other duties as required.
Access to Sensitive Areas: Access to F&B storage, beer, wine, and liquor storage areas.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required, unless waived by Human Resources.
- Minimum of two (2) years in food and beverage and/or hospitality industry.
- One (1) year bartending experience required, unless waived by hiring manager.
- Must obtain ABC certificate of safe alcohol server training.
- Excellent interpersonal, guest service, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background check, and maintain gaming license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, food service principles, bartending, bar maintenance, and POS systems.
- Knowledge of all bar items and liquors.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills.
- Ability to operate a cash register and communicate effectively.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to interpret instructions in written and oral form.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth, color, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment
Work is performed indoors and outdoors, with exposure to secondhand smoke, noise, dirt, dust, odors, and weather conditions. Extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required.
Availability: Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
