Job Description Summary

We are seeking an experienced and energetic Bartender with five+ years of experience. The bartender must be a spirit expert and responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives that cover the hotel's social venues. The bartender sets up, services, and breaks down the bar area, ensuring a high level of quality, consistency, and service.

Special Qualifications, Education or Licenses:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Food Handler Certificate required
• Must speak, read, write and understand English clearly and fluently

Essential Elements:

• Adhere to Sonesta Hotel grooming standards.
• Lift and move approximately 40 pounds, including overhead storage.
• Push/pull a loaded beverage cart weighing approximately 200 pounds, including inclines.
• Bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach daily.
• Move freely within the bar area.
• Stand for prolonged periods and walk continuously.
• Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and fine motor skills.
• Communicate effectively with guests and staff, guiding them as needed.
• Maintain and operate equipment like blenders and dishwashers.
• Interact courteously and discreetly with guests and colleagues.
• Follow safety and emergency procedures.
• Handle cash and credit transactions, and operate point of sale equipment.
• Read and write effectively, perform basic arithmetic.
• Work with chemicals and prolonged water exposure.
• Not infected by foodborne transmitted diseases as per Public Health Services.
• Establish high customer service standards with guests and staff.

Job Tasks:

• Set up and present the bar area properly.
• Requisition liquor, beer, and wine accurately.
• Maintain proper par levels and accurate sales records.
• Follow standard beverage recipes.
• Keep the bar area clean and organized.
• Work responsibly within a team environment.
• Provide guest information and ensure satisfaction.
• Maintain excellent work habits for hospitable service.
• Ensure cleanliness of the bar and service area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Additional Job Information:

Pay Range: $16.50 - $17.50/hr. Base pay may vary based on experience and skills.
