Job description

If you love people and like working in a fun, fast-paced environment, the Pier is the place for you!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Receives orders from patrons and waitstaff.
  2. Prepares and serves liquor, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic drinks as ordered.
  3. Ensures that fruit and other garnishes are prepared ahead of the opening of the bar.
  4. Maintains the bar and keeps it clean and organized.
  5. Ensures that customers are of legal drinking age by checking photo IDs.
  6. Collects money from customers for drinks prepared and served.
  7. Uses proper judgment and, when necessary, refuses service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive.
  8. Notifies bar manager when liquor, beer, and other bar-related supplies need to be reordered.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  1. Extensive knowledge of drink preparation or service.
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills and focus on serving customers.
  3. Ability to remain calm when dealing with unruly and argumentative patrons.
  4. Ability to learn point-of-sale software used by bar and restaurant.

Education and Experience:

  1. At least three (3) years of experience in a high-volume bar required.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Prolonged periods standing and preparing drinks.
  2. Ability to complete orders quickly and accurately.
  3. Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
  4. Must be at least 21 years old.

Job Type: Seasonal

Wage Range: $8 to $12 per hour plus tips, based on experience
