Job summary

Oaklawn in Hot Springs, AR seeks a Bartender to deliver exceptional guest experiences at our bars and dining rooms. You will mix, pour, and present drinks with accuracy, maintain bar stock, and ensure responsible service in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires at least one year of beverage or guest service experience in a high-volume setting, and a commitment to friendly, professional service. Casino background is a plus, and eligibility to work in the United States is required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• One or more years’ beverage service in a high-volume, fast-paced environment; nightclub experience preferred.
• Casino experience preferred.
• One or more years’ guest service experience.
• Ability to multitask and interact with guests and staff in a professional manner.
• Ability to perform the physical duties of all Food & Beverage team members.

Responsibilities

• Serve guests at front bars and fulfill drink orders for the dining room.
• Monitor the cash drawer at the bar and perform alcohol inventories at night.
• Greet and seat guests, present menus and inform them of promotions.
• Ensure the bar is stocked and stocked throughout shift.
• Operate a cash register/POS and handle payments accurately.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness; follow established Oaklawn policies.
• May be assigned to various venues throughout the property.
• Observe guest consumption and intervene as needed to ensure responsible service.

We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Bartender. An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Bartender is responsible for serving guests at our front bars and fulfilling drink orders for the dining room, monitoring the cash drawer at the bar and performing alcohol inventories at the end of each night to help in maintaining proper inventory levels. Always presents a friendly and professional image at Oaklawn. The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

• Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
• Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
• Provides impeccable guest service to all guests
• Observes and reports any and all unsafe behavior displayed by internal and external guests.
• Greets and seats guests, presents menus to guests, informs them of promotions and specials.
• Treats all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strives to exceed guests’ expectations.
• Monitors guest’s consumption of alcohol and intervene as needed according to guidelines.
• Prepares and pours drink orders with proper portions and ingredients according to recipe, communicates with beverage servers, and presents drinks to guests or servers as required.
• Ensures the bar is adequately stocked thought out shift.
• Completes all assigned opening and closing check lists.
• Operates a cash register/POS System, ringing proper amount into the register and giving the guest or server the correct change; accounts for all cash and charge sales according to established procedure. Checks out with leadership before leaving shift.
• Performs all job duties in a safe and responsible manner including keeping areas clean and free of safety hazards, debris and litter.
• Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables.
• Takes guest information and quotes wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available.
• Cleans, organizes and stocks menus at host area.
• Answers phone and answers questions concerning the menu and restaurant.
• Interacts with guests as they arrive and as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience.
• Ensures waiting and foyer areas are kept clean
• Acts as cashier as needed or assigned
• May be assigned to various venues throughout the property depending on business needs.
• Follows established procedures and policies of the Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
• Must successfully complete R.S.A.
