Job description

The award-winning AAA 5-Diamond Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is looking for a Bartender to join the Food & Beverage Team at 33 North Lounge (https://www.waldorfastoriamonarchbeach.com/dine/33-north)!

Located in the beautiful coastal town of Dana Point adjacent to Laguna Beach, this town played an iconic role in the emergence of California's surf culture and today is celebrated for its laid-back vibe and fun, active lifestyle.

The resort is perched on 175 acres atop a 150-foot seaside bluff with over 400 rooms, 115,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, and 8 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, a beach club, lounge, marketplace, and IRD.

Classification: Part-Time
Shift: Various – must have availability to work weekends, weekdays, and holidays.

What will I be doing?

As a Bartender, you would be responsible for preparing and serving beverages and/or food to guests in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  1. Greet guests and respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
  2. Mix and garnish beverages according to recipe and portion control standards.
  3. Present and serve beverages to guests.
  4. Check guests for proper identification and serve alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with federal, state, local and company laws and regulations.
  5. Accurately total, process and collect payments from guests to include, but not limited to, using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, making change and processing gift certificates, cards and vouchers.
  6. Stock and maintain the bar to include, but not limited to, beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce.
  7. Cut, store and ensure product quality of all beverage-related perishables.
  8. Respond professionally to inebriated guests, as needed.

Pay Range: The hourly rate is $16.50 per hour plus tips and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
