Job Summary
TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm is a private championship golf course located in Potomac, MD, about 20 miles from the White House. We are seeking a Banquet Bartender to courteously and efficiently prepare member and guest beverage requests using standard measuring devices and approved formulas.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- At least one year of bartending experience.
- Thorough knowledge of beverage preparation, bartending operational procedures, and bar sanitation procedures.
Responsibilities
- Set up the bar area in accordance with TPC standards.
- Maintain appropriate par stock levels of beverage inventory per Banquet Event Order.
- Keep the bar and surrounding area clean, well‑ stocked, and free of debris.
- Ensure ice is full and fresh, glassware is on hand, napkins are available, and empty glassware is promptly removed for cleaning.
- Secure the bar area and restrict access to authorized members and employees only.
- Make and serve beverages as requested in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner following TPC standards.
- Follow proper pouring and garnishing standards to maintain beverage costs.
- Notify the supervisor of any member or guest complaints for immediate resolution.
- Comply with operating guidelines related to R.A.M. or Tips programs and all State and Federal laws regarding alcohol, cigarette, and tobacco.
- Attend pre‑banquet meetings as required by the Food and Beverage Director or Supervisor.
- Identify members and guests legally allowed to be served alcoholic beverages.
- Report any member or guest who is clearly intoxicated to the Food and Beverage Director or General Manager.
- Reconcile beverage consumption and inventory according to TPC procedures.
- Close and break down the bar at designated times, clean and wipe surfaces, empty ice, and return unopened inventory to storage.
- Remove and store all equipment and supplies properly.
- Handle and count cash, make accurate change, and record sales per standard operating procedures.
- Assist other employees as needed with banquet services.
- Complete special projects or other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
Regular standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, and use of hands to handle or feel. Must lift or move up to 25 pounds. Requires good vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations.
Pay Rate
$7.50 per hour.
