Job summary

JACK Entertainment in Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking a casino beverage bartender. You will provide fast, friendly service to guests and beverage servers, prepare drinks with accuracy, and maintain clean, safe workstation practices.

You will operate the cash register, manage cash and card transactions, and monitor responsible alcohol service. Exposure to Flair Bartending techniques and close collaboration with bar staff and supervisors are part of the role.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year bartender experience.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Excellent customer service/communication skills.
  • Read, write, speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Provides fast, friendly, professional beverage service to casino guests and beverage servers.
  • Prepares and pours drink orders with proper portions and ingredients according to recipe.
  • Operates and maintains equipment and utensils according to safety procedures.
  • Maintains clean and stocked workstation.
  • Operates a cash register and handles cash/credit transactions accurately.
  • Monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed.
  • Serves as ambassador of goodwill at events and publicity photos; promotes casino events.
  • Works with Total Rewards on card sign-up programs.
  • Collaborates with beverage staff and supervisors; uses guest name for service.
  • Resolves service problems according to guidelines.
  • Integrates Flair Bartending skills (spinning, flipping, throws, etc.).

Job description

  • Provides fast, friendly, professional beverage service to casino guests and beverage servers. (2 minute or less production cycle for 15 drink tray)
  • Prepares and pours drink orders with proper portions and ingredients according to recipe, communicates with beverage servers, and presents drinks to guests or servers as required
  • Operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures
  • Maintains clean and stocked workstation
  • Operates a cash register, ringing proper amount into the register and giving the guest or server the correct change; accounts for all cash, charge and complimentary sales according to established procedure; maintains integrity of all financial controls and responsibilities.
  • Monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed according to guidelines
  • Serves as ambassador of goodwill while working and at customer and public relations functions; appears in publicity photos
  • Promotes casino events and programs
  • Works closely with Total Rewards to promote new card sign up programs.
  • Works well with others, especially beverage servers, bartenders, bar porters, beverage supervisor, and slots supervisor
  • Provides personalized service and uses guest name
  • Resolves service problems according to guidelines
  • Integrates “Flair Bartending” skills into normal production sequences. These skills include but are not limited to:
  • Flipping the shaker tin behind the back
  • Multi pouring with shaker tins
  • The glass toss
  • The garnish toss
  • Flipping bottles

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 hours).
  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts.
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel.
  • Respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives.
  • Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Education & Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must have 1 year minimum of bartender experience
  • Read, write legibly, understand and speak English
  • Excellent customer service/communication skills
  • Count money and change correctly
  • Know cocktail ingredients and proper mixing and pouring techniques
  • Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
  • Must maintain high appearance standards as prescribed by Beverage department.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
