Description

Job Summary: The bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service to club members and guests in a professional and friendly manner. This includes preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintaining inventory and stock levels, and ensuring cleanliness and sanitation of the bar area.

Winter Operations are at Alpine Club & Schaffer's Camp – Northstar, Bearfoot – TMC Pavilion.

Summer Operations are at PJs - Gray's Crossing, Bearfoot – TMC Pavilion, Old Greenwood & Gray’s Crossing Golf Outlets.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Arrives to work in uniform and ready to work on the floor by the time scheduled.
  • Greets members and guests in a friendly and welcoming manner and maintains a warm and friendly interactive service atmosphere.
  • Provide excellent customer service and address member/guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Takes orders directly from guests for food and beverages and serves using proper etiquette.
  • Reports to and receives instruction from the supervisor regarding daily events, section map, daily cleaning assignments, etc.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately using recipes approved by the service director and according to standard recipes and member/guest requests.
  • Knows regular menu and special menu items, descriptions and pricing for the day.
  • Knows all specialty drinks, formulas and pricing, as well as which glassware, fruit, straws, etc., accompany each drink.
  • Performs all side work and set up duties for each meal period.
  • Clean and sanitize the bar area, dining area, wait stations and storage areas, including equipment and utensils.
  • Sets up the bar at the beginning of each shift and completely restocks at the end of each shift.
  • Responsible for collecting all glassware sent to the kitchen for cleaning.
  • Monitor and adhere to all alcohol service guidelines and laws.
  • Assist with setup and cleanup of special events and functions.
  • Follow all club policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
  • Works on the dining room floor and/or bar area(s): serves and tends bar.
  • Reports any complaints or problems directly to the service manager or director.
  • Balances own sales report and assigned cash register at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Prepares sales envelope with daily sales at end of day, turn into reporting manager.
  • Responsible for cleaning, stocking, and storage of the mobile bar (if any).
  • Responsible for the coffee station set up, breakdown, par levels and cleanliness (if any).
  • May be asked to close and secure the building at end of the day.

Because of the fluctuating demands of the Club’s operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks, not specifically addressed above.

Reports to: Food & Beverage Director, Restaurant Managers

Qualifications

Education/Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience as a bartender in a similar environment. High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, drink recipes, and proper mixing techniques. Excellent customer service and communication skill. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Language/Communication: Ability to read and speak English is required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English). Must be able to work as part of a team and maintain open communication with managers and fellow coworkers. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests or members of the community. Must display professional demeanor and communicate in professional language at all times.

Certificates/Licenses/Safety Training: State accredited Alcohol Training Certification is required within 30 days of employment. California Food Handlers Card required upon hire.

Physical Requirements of the Job:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead.
