We’re excited to hire and welcome team members to our national park locations! Xanterra Travel Collection is a private company that provides concession services within national parks. All services operated by Xanterra, including lodging, dining, retail, and tour operations, are currently open and continue to operate as planned for the 2025 summer season. Any potential government layoffs within the National Park Service do not impact our positions or job offers.

The Oasis at Death Valley is situated in a lush, spring-fed desert oasis, surrounded by the vast and arid desert of Death Valley National Park. The Oasis operates the historic AAA Four Diamond Inn and Ranch, restaurants, gift shops, and the world's lowest elevation golf course. Both hotels are open year-round and feature swimming pools fed by naturally warm local springs.

Job Summary:

The Bartender position is responsible for providing excellent guest service by mixing quality cocktails, pouring a proper draft, and decanting wine to achieve the best taste. Join our team as a Bartender at The Oasis at Death Valley, where you'll have the opportunity to work in any of our vibrant bar outlets, including The Inn Bar, The Inn Pool Bar, Last Kind Words Saloon, Wild Rose Tavern, and the Employee Pub.

The Details:

• Position Type: Full-time Year-round
• Start Dates: On next available start date (approximately three weeks)
• Pay: $17.10/hr.
• Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent guest service efficiently.
• Follow all policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Record and serve food and beverages accurately, process payments, and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Use menu knowledge and suggestive selling to maximize sales; educate staff on up-selling and wine salesmanship.
• Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly, adhering to policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper stock levels in work areas.
• Handle payments accurately and deposit sales.

Qualifications

• Organize and prioritize under pressure with a calm demeanor.
• Effective communication with guests and staff.
• Absorb information quickly, including service procedures and menus.
• Knowledge of brands, recipes, and basic sanitation helpful.
• Computer skills and familiarity with POS systems.
• Certification in TIPS alcohol awareness required; training provided if needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand for long periods (~8 hours).
• Walk for extended periods.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods.
