DUTIES:
Prepares alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks following a variety of established and complex recipes. Serves patrons directly or delivers to wait staff.
Ensures bar is in a presentable and sanitary condition. Assures an adequate stock level is maintained, sets up storeroom and work area to permit easy access to stock items. Maintains work area neat and clean. Washes bar equipment, glassware, and utensils following proper sanitation procedures. Stocks services bars as required.
Responsible for the proper operation of the bar, receipts, and inventory accountability. Assists in taking inventory and maintaining records on which drinks and liquors are in greatest demand. Accepts money, operates cash register, and makes change. May be required to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability.
Completes required training in the serving of alcohol beverages before starting work. Annual, local refresher training is required and must be documented. Identifies persons who become unruly or who appear intoxicated, resolves the problem, or seeks assistance in accordance with established procedures.
Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Must have working knowledge of sanitation procedures.
