Job summary

Fort Stewart, GA – U.S. Army MWR seeks a bar attendant to operate a full-service bar, mix and serve beverages, and manage daily sales records. You will stock the bar, maintain cleanliness, and ensure safety and compliance with procedures.

The role requires 21+ age, the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and basic math for billing and inventory. You will monitor staff performance and uphold quality service in a dynamic setting near Fort Stewart.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a small full-service bar, mix and serve beverages, record sales, and stock bar per procedures.
  • Keep bar area, utensils, equipment, and work area clean and sanitary; monitor stock and place restocking orders as needed.
  • Deny further sales to intoxicated patrons and assist staff as required.

Duties
  • Operates a small full-service bar, mixing and serving the full range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Records sales, makes change or prepares charge slips in accordance with the operating procedures. Stocks bar.
  • Keeps bar, utensils, equipment and work area clean and sanitary. Keeps records of quantities of beverages dispensed and submits requirement for re-stocking to supervisor. Receives and checks quantity and description of stock.
  • Uses tack and courtesy to deny further sales to persons whose conduct has become unruly or who appear to be intoxicated.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Satisfactory completion of physical examination.
  • Must meet state/local age requirements (21 - required age) for the serving of alcoholic beverage at the time of appointment (PROJECTED APPOINTMENT DATE: 09/10/2026)?

  • Must meet state/local age requirements for the serving of alcoholic at the time of appointment.
  • Be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds.
  • Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
  • Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
  • Ability to monitor and direct the work of other bar staff.

This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

Additional Information
  • This job is open to candidates who are located in the local commuting area. (Within a 50-mile radius of Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield, GA.) (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)
PCS Costs
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
