Job description

Position Summary

Prepares all alcoholic beverages for guests and venue servers. Actively takes orders, conducts full and complete food/beverage service, and monitors guests' bar/dining experience. Interacts with guests, team members, and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality.

Essential Functions of the Position Include, But Are Not Limited To:
  1. Anticipate and accommodate the needs of guests.
  2. Provide professional and exceptional service.
  3. Present menus, answer questions, and make suggestions for all food and beverage items.
  4. Inform guests of all food and beverage specials, with prices.
  5. Solicit any allergy or dietary restrictions from each guest.
  6. Accurately enter all orders into the POS system and follow proper cash/payment procedures.
  7. Ensure delivery of all food and beverage to guests at the bar and lounge (where applicable).
  8. Maintain cleanliness of the bar and venue.
  9. Organize liquor displays and shelving, and maintain par levels.
  10. Follow supervisor’s instructions, communicate with and support co-workers, and be a team player.
  11. Possess in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus and the company.
  12. Serve all alcoholic beverages in accordance with state regulations and alcohol awareness standards.
  13. Comply with Department of Health and sanitation standards.
  14. Complete all end-of-shift financial procedures accurately.
  15. Communicate guest needs to support staff, managers, and chefs.
  16. Set up bar stations, perform side-work, and complete opening/closing procedures as directed.
Management Responsibilities Include:
  • Ensure the bar area is clean and debris-free.
  • Set up bar with proper equipment and settings.
  • Wipe down surfaces and organize supplies.
  • Perform opening and closing side-work.
  • Report breakage and damage immediately.
Additional Responsibilities:

Attend daily pre-service meetings, participate in training sessions, learn by observing, and share knowledge. Maintain a positive attitude, demonstrate knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, work as part of a team, and assist with additional tasks as assigned.

Training Requirements

Tao Group Hospitality in-venue bartender training.

Education/Working Knowledge

1-2 years of professional beverage experience, previous bartending experience, and experience in high-volume environments.

Skills / Physical Demands / Work Environment / Schedule

Effective communication, positive energy, legible printing, ability to kneel, bend, stand for extended periods, move quickly, lift up to 50 lbs., and work in noisy, crowded, and smoky environments. Extended hours, irregular shifts, evening/weekend/holiday work may be required. Exposure to cleaning materials and hot kitchen elements. Maintain a professional appearance and interact courteously with customers and staff. Handle a fast-paced, stressful environment. Maintain confidentiality.
