Book Tower has welcomed a series of new food and beverage concepts to the growing scene in downtown Detroit. Le Supreme and Bar Rotunda bring the taste and style of early twentieth-century Paris back to Detroit:

Le Suprême

Offers all-day French fare in an elegant dining room, alfresco, in the restaurant’s bar, or within its 12-seat private dining room. Enter off Washington Boulevard or through The Rotunda to indulge in Parisian specialties, fresh pastries, breads, and desserts from the adjoining patisserie and boulangerie. The full-service bar offers a curated cocktail program and over 300 world-class wines and champagnes.

Bar Rotunda

Serves as an all-day cafe and wine bar with coffees, pastries, small plates, wine, and cocktails at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Inspired by grand cafés and hotel bars of early twentieth-century Paris, the design features Book Tower’s marble arched atrium and a 100-year-old Kamper-glass skylight.

Role of the Bartender Team

The bartender team must be highly knowledgeable about all beverage menu items: wines, cocktails, spirits, and beer. They are essential to the dining experience at Le Suprême and Bar Rotunda.

1. Set up the bar and prep products to match covers plus 5% over.
2. Greet all guests approaching the bar, even during off hours.
3. Guide and instruct barbacks on expectations and needs for each shift.
4. Include staff education in every lineup.
5. Provide full service to guests at the bar, maintaining established service standards.
6. Manage well drinks and aim for a 4-minute ticket time.
7. Maintain and rotate clean and polished glassware.
8. Handle cash and close guest tabs properly.
9. Keep the bar clean, using older stock before fresh prep, and check quality throughout the day.
10. Work cleanly, with all service areas visible to guests.
11. Perform weekly cleaning duties during downtime.
12. Restock before clocking out during shift change.
13. Perform closing duties at the end of each shift.
14. Maintain a strong, upbeat, and positive personality.
15. Uphold high standards with attention to detail.
16. Show passion for food, beverages, and hospitality.
17. Multi-task effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
18. Foster a team and family-oriented mentality.
19. Stand and walk for extended periods.
20. Lift and carry items up to 50 lbs when needed.

Working Conditions / Environment

• Stand, walk, push, kneel, bend, and stretch for 8-10 hours daily.
• Navigate different areas of the property efficiently with agility.
• Move, pull, carry, or lift objects weighing at least 50 pounds.
