Job summary

Sycuan is seeking a Bartender I to join the beverage team on-site in the San Diego area. You will prepare cocktails and serve guests according to approved recipes, while maintaining bar cleanliness and complying with health codes.

The role requires at least 6 months bartending experience, the CA ABC Responsible Beverage Service Certification, a valid Food Handler Card, and the ability to work at least 21 years old.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Food Handler Card and ABC certification.
• Experience bartending; ability to mix drinks to recipes.
• Strong English communication and reliable, punctual work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and prep designated workstation and bar area.
• Provide bar service to servers and guests; ensure responsible beverage service.
• Keep recipes consistent in flavor, quality, and appearance.
• Enter orders into the POS system as needed.

Job Purpose:

Under the direction of the designated venue management, the Bartender I prepares cocktail server orders for guest consumption utilizing only approved recipes and ingredients as set by the Director of Food & Beverage; maintains all liquor, bar equipment, and bars to set health codes and casino standards; maintains positive, team oriented and accommodating attitude toward guests (internal as well as external), fellow team members, and management, at all times.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains and preps designated workstation.
• Provides servers with bar service and guests as needed.
• Ensures responsible beverage service policies and laws are followed.
• Ensures recipes are consistent in flavor profiles, quality, and appearance.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
• Enters food and drink orders into the point-of-sale system, as needed.

Job Specifications:

Education and Experience:

Essential:

• County of San Diego Food Handler Card
• 21 years of age
• CA ABC Responsible Beverage Service Certification
• 6 months bartending experience

Desirable:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Food Service experience
• Cash Handling experience
• Guest Service or Hospitality experience

Skills and Knowledge:
