Job summary

Applebee’s and IHOP have joined forces under one roof to deliver a groundbreaking casual-dining and bar experience. Our team seeks a friendly bartender to craft cocktails, pour drinks, and serve food with energy and hospitality in a lively setting.

You will use blenders and soda machines, operate a POS system, and handle opening/closing side work. Applicants should have basic reading/writing, math and verbal skills, plus a food handler card and Texas TABC permit when hired.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required.
• Able to operate blenders, frozen drink machines and other bar equipment.
• Must obtain or possess a valid food handler’s card prior to employment.
• In Texas must obtain TABC Liquor permit when hired.

Responsibilities

• Uses the POS system to relay orders and process payments.

Job Description (Bartender)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks following specifications.
• Serves food and drinks to guests in a courteous and timely manner.
• Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and fruit juice to prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Interacts verbally with all bar guests creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere.
• Serves food and drinks to all bar guests.
• Completes assigned opening and closing side work.
• Slices fruit and vegetable garnishes for drinks.
• Presents guest checks to bar patrons. Makes change and/or completes any necessary charge card transactions.
• Processes employee and/or manager food orders.
• Relays food orders to kitchen via the point-of-sale computerized register system.
• Completes extra cleaning tasks as assigned.

Qualification Standards:

• Reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required.
• Able to operate blenders, frozen drink machines and other bar equipment.
• Transports and carries objects up to 15 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off the floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the restaurant.
• Must obtain or possess and/or obtain a valid food handler’s card prior to employment.
• In Texas must obtain TABC Liquor permit when hired.
• Must be 21 years of age.

Physical Requirements:

• Stands entire shift.
• Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other staff members.
• Must have good sense of balance, be able to bend and kneel and lift bus trays, tubs, and glass racks frequently weighing 25 pounds.
