Job summary

Courtyard Santa Barbara Downtown seeks a friendly server to provide courteous food and beverage service, take orders, describe menu items, and prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks while ensuring clean, stocked tables.

You will handle opening/closing duties, operate the POS, and process payments while maintaining safety and sanitation standards. 21+ with Safe Server certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must have excellent leadership capability and customer relations skills.
• Must be detail oriented with outstanding organizational and communication skills.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• Must possess basic computational ability.
• Knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, and POS.
• Self-driven and able to work independently.
• Knowledge of table and bar service.
• Knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, and flavor profiles.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a welcoming manner and take food and beverage orders.
• Describe menu items, ingredients, and methods of preparation; suggest products.
• Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and assist other servers.
• Clear and reset tables; restock bar inventory and supplies.
• Operate cash register/POS and handle payments per policies.
• Open/close procedures and side work; maintain cleanliness and safety.
