Objective

This position directly serves and interacts with customers and exudes a genuine enjoyment of people and the product while providing a friendly and efficient beverage service to guests.

  • Fulfills alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink orders, either taken directly from patrons at the bar or through Servers who place drink orders for dining room customers.
  • Conducts sales through use of POS system to place all beverage orders.
  • Confirms identification of customers in the taproom to ensure they meet the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcohol products.
  • Adheres to the State Liquor Laws and ensures responsible guest consumption.
  • Practices salesmanship skills in answering customer’s questions and making recommendations regarding the menu and daily specials, company-produced beers and other beverages and serves the same to customers seated in the taproom.
  • Anticipates the customer’s needs; frequently checks on customer satisfaction and preferences.
  • Responsible for accurate money handling, opening and closing procedures.
  • Collects payment and operates the cash register.
  • Maintains clean bar and taproom area which is organized and presentable to customers and observes occupational health and safety procedures.
  • Sustains an adequate supply of glasses and other bar supplies.
  • Responsible for giving brewery tours and sharing the history of the brewery.

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of state liquor laws.
  • Knowledge of server/bartender standards and etiquette.
  • Skilled in operating POS systems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle several forms of payment efficiently.
  • Ability to work through difficult situations to resolution.

Physical & Mental Requirements

Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties, in at times extreme environments, as well as the ability to handle stressors of the position in operational and administrative situations. Required to frequently lift and move 10-50 pounds. Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, talk, hear, taste, smell, see, and operate objects, tools, and controls.
