Responsibilities

• Inform guests of daily specials.

• Verify guest identities with State ID or driver's license.
• Check on food orders and alert when ready.
• Deliver to-go items with napkins, utensils, and condiments.
• Follow bar recipes and measure pours with a jigger.
• Clean the bar at night and secure liquor bottles.
• Complete end-of-shift duties and check out with the manager on duty.

Newport Racing & Gaming is a gaming and entertainment facility located in Newport, Kentucky, featuring over 400 popular, thrilling, state-of-the-art Vegas-style games, sports wagering, restaurant and simulcast.

JOB SUMMARY

Work schedules includes Friday-Monday 6p-2:30a

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inform all guests of any specials on food or drinks for the day of business.
• Using the second bar terminal in the smoking area, ring in all food/drinks and include upcharges where applicable.
• Collect payment for all orders.
• Give a copy of the receipt to each guest and have a Credit Card reader on hand, as some guests may not have cash on hand
• If you have placed a food order for a guest, make sure to check on the food for completion (use buzzers if available to alert you when food is ready).
• When delivering to-go food please include napkins, plastic utensils, and appropriate condiments.
• If a guest is using their players card to pay, verify the guests name on the card by matching it with their State ID or driver’s license.
• When making drinks behind the smoking bar, be sure to:
• Ring in all transactions on the provided micros tablet/terminal, prior to making.
• Make drinks for guests using specified recipes and using a jigger to measure pours of liquor.
• Clean the bar at the end of the night and properly replace all lids on liquor bottles used.
• Complete regular end of shift duties and check out with manager on duty.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Maintains County Health District, Gaming, and Alcohol Awareness Certification.
• Multi-task ability and able to complete all tasks with minimal supervision and show a sense of urgency no matter what the business volume.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, and body language.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• A high school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Some prior bar back experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain a valid Racing License.
