Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Bartender Non-Tipped at the University of Maine at Farmington to deliver exceptional customer service, mix and serve drinks quickly, and work with wait staff to ensure a smooth bar operation. The role is on-call part-time with varying shifts.

Candidates should have 0–1 year of relevant experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to meet age requirements for alcohol service. Flexible availability and reliability are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience.
• Preferred ability to prepare a wide range of beverage recipes and mix drinks correctly.
• Must meet minimum age to serve alcohol or work as a bartender according to local/state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Receive guests, mix and serve drinks with and without alcohol, and create drinks with appropriate garnishes.
• Ensure the bar area is stocked with tools and products needed for mixing and serving.
• Prepare accurate inventory counts and issue inventory or purchasing orders as needed to replenish supplies.
• Be cordial, diplomatic and attentive when dealing with customers.
• Significant amounts of walking or moving about.
• Ability to stand for long periods, potentially exceeding 8 hours.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 lbs and occasionally 50 lbs.
• Attend work and report to scheduled shift on time, with reliable regularity.
