Position Summary: Bartenders play an essential role in delivering the superior guest service that is central to the mission of Eddie Merlot's. Based on extensive knowledge of beverage and menu options, Bartenders prepare and serve beverages for the lounge and the dining room in accordance with established recipes and presentation guidelines. They also total and present checks, maintain their station in a clean and orderly manner, and follow all sanitation, food handling, and liquor regulations. Bartenders partner with Servers, Bussers, and other team members to ensure outstanding service and hospitality.

Responsibilities:

• Complete and pass required training modules - both initial and ongoing - for Bartenders and Servers.
• Know your work schedule, arrive on time, and meet standards for uniform and appearance.
• Understand beverage and menu options, follow recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Communicate with Manager and Hosts about reservations, guest flow, large parties, or events.
• Keep the bar clean and stocked, set up the lounge, and complete opening duties.
• Greet guests, take beverage orders, prepare and serve drinks, and ensure outstanding service.
• Guide guests through the menu, answer questions, upsell, and suggest items.
• Accurately take and input food orders, serve appetizers and menu items.
• Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Follow recipes and presentation specifications, ensure accurate pouring and portion control.
• Mix drinks for Dining Room guests, place on service bar.
• Handle check presentation, payment, and tips.
• Thank guests and invite them to return.
• Maintain the bar, perform side and closing duties, assist with special events.
• Take phone orders for 'To Go' orders.
• Assist with Prime Society membership and service.
• Communicate guest requests, complaints, and suggestions to Managers.
• Work at meetings, banquets, and special events as scheduled.
• Support team environment by assisting colleagues as needed.
• Follow policies, procedures, standards, laws, and regulations related to liquor, food handling, sanitation, and safety.

Position Requirements:

• At least 2 years' experience as a Bartender, preferably in fine dining.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Professional appearance.
• State license to serve alcohol and knowledge of liquor laws.
• Extensive knowledge of alcoholic beverages and mixed drinks.
• Manual dexterity, multi-tasking skills.
• Effective communication and social skills.
• Self-motivated, able to work calmly under pressure.
• Team-oriented, organized, able to follow directions.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays; lunch hours may be required seasonally.

Salary Range: Position: Bartender - EM; Division: Eddie Merlot's; Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt
