The Performing Arts Center Authority (PACA) is seeking a Bartender – Event to deliver exceptional beverage service at Broward Center for the Performing Arts, The Parker, and Aventura Arts and Cultural Center.

You will prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, verify guest ages, and maintain a clean bar while following responsible alcohol service standards. This role requires flexible scheduling, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous bartending or hospitality experience preferred.
• ServSafe certifications or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, courteous beverage service to guests.

Position SummaryThe Bartender – Event provides exceptional beverage service during performances, special events, and private functions at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, The Parker and Aventura Arts and Cultural Center (collectively the Performing Arts Center Authority “PACA.”). The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with responsible alcohol service standards while delivering outstanding guest service, maintaining accurate cash handling practices, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, and supporting efficient concession operations that enhance the guest experience and maximize revenue.Essential FunctionsProvide prompt, courteous, and professional service to all guests.Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages using approved recipes and portion controls.Verify guest age and refuse alcohol service when required by law or policy.Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized bar area throughout the event and work with a clean as you go method.Stock bars with liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, cups, garnishes, and supplies before, during, and after events.Know the correct cost of items, charge accordingly and accurately process all methods of payment using the point-of-sale system.Maintain current Responsible Vendor and ServSafe certifications.Comply with all PACA and Concessions Department policies, safe handling and sale of alcoholic beverage requirements.Solicit pre-orders for intermission when pre-order policy is in effect.Follow the outlined dress code and present a neat, clean and hygienic appearance.Assist with inventory, deliveries, setup, breakdown, and restocking.Attend required meetings and training sessions.Cross train in all aspects of beverage and food service.Work fast and efficiently to serve as many patrons as accurately as possible.Responsible for accurately clocking in and out for each shift.Perform other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilitiesn/aCore CompetenciesCustomer Focus – Deliver responsive, courteous service that creates a positive experience.Teamwork – Collaborate effectively to achieve departmental and organizational goals.Accountability – Take ownership of work, follow through on commitments, and demonstrate sound judgment.Knowledge and AbilitiesMaintain a physical presence at designated work locations, maintaining regular attendance, punctuality and work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and events, as needed.Communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally.Perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and excellent customer service during extended shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Demonstrate sound judgment, integrity, and ethical behavior in all daily activities.Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices and able to successfully complete the Responsible Vendor and ServSafe CertificationsSkilled in bartending in order to accurately prepare bar, drink and snack orders and effectively serve customers.Accurately process all methods of payment and operate a POS system.Follow direction from management and accept constructive feedback.Desired QualificationsHigh School, High School Equivalent, or Higher: General or any equivalent combination of training and experience.Previous bartending, concessions, restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.Responsible Vendor and ServSafe certifications required or must be obtained within the established timeframe.
