Job summary

JINYA Ramen Bar in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Bartender to join our team. Bartenders are brand ambassadors, delivering a fun, relaxed dining experience while applying steps of service, upselling specials, and sharing full menu knowledge.

This role requires minimum 2-3 years bartending in a high-volume setting, strong communication, and the ability to work weekends and holidays. Proficiency with POS/Host systems (OpenTable or similar) and fluent English are essential for outstanding

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years bartending experience, preferably in a high-volume atmosphere.
• Outstanding and professional verbal and written skills; with strong ability to multi-task.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Understand or experience in operating POS system or Host System (OpenTable or similar).

Responsibilities

• Serve guests in a professional and positive manner, including orders and delivery of beverages.
• Utilize steps of service, upselling techniques and menu knowledge guiding guests to specials.
• Greet guests as they arrive and manage seating or wait-list when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness of service station and assist in front-of-house tasks.
• Respond to minor guest complaints and alert management of concerns.
• Know restaurant information, hours, menu, allergies and payment options.
