Pay Range: $16.00 to $17.00 plus Tips!

Job Summary:

Join our team as a Bartender and serve up great experiences at UW-Madison’s high-energy sporting events! In this role, you’ll mix and serve beverages in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner while maintaining a clean and well-stocked bar area. If you have bartending experience and thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments, this is the perfect opportunity for you! Anticipated start date of June 1st.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Adhere to state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations, ensuring safe and responsible alcohol service.
2. Set up and maintain assigned bar, ensuring all necessary supplies are ready and stocked.
3. Prepare and store fresh fruit garnishes, juices, and perishables, ensuring high product quality.
4. Welcome guests warmly, providing excellent service in a friendly and professional manner.
5. Take and process drink orders, mix, garnish, and present beverages according to standard recipes, practicing prudent portion control.
6. Check IDs to verify legal drinking age and detect fraudulent IDs.
7. Monitor guests for signs of inebriation and act accordingly, ensuring compliance with liquor laws.
8. Keep the bar area clean, organized, and appealing while performing regular cleaning tasks to meet health and safety standards.
9. Maintain an attractive bar display, arranging bottles and glasses for easy access and visual appeal.
10. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications:

1. Bartending experience is required.
2. Positive, team-oriented attitude and excellent customer service skills.
3. Availability to work all UW-Madison Football games and a majority of events at the Kohl Center for the 2025-2026 season.
4. Willingness to complete ServSafe Alcohol Certification.
5. Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
6. Ability to stand and walk for long hours.
