The Bartender provides exceptional hospitality to all guests. They will deliver pleasant, professional, and courteous beverage service, including food service to all patrons in accordance with established procedures. Handle all liquor, wine, and beer control in working area.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

- Provide prompt and exceptional hospitality to all guests. Always serve guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take orders and promote the sale of beverages listed on menus, including special promotions, in addition to food service. Operate P.O.S. computer, make change correctly, and process credit card transactions. Verify correct pricing.
- Effectively card all guests according to New Hampshire state regulations for acceptable forms of identification.
- Have complete knowledge of all drinks on the menu. Mix and serve all drinks consistently, including house- and featured drinks using standard recipes. Maintain ideal beverage cost.
- Upsell to premium brands of liquor.
- Maintain knowledge of all food and beverage menu items, including drink and liquor brand designations (house, call, premium, cordial, specialty, etc.), types of specialty drinks, domestic versus import beers, appropriate glassware, and garnishes.
- Assist servers with bar knowledge (proper glassware, garnishes, etc.) and proper entry of beverage orders into the P.O.S system. Never make drinks without a printed slip.
- Keep the bar area organized, safe, and clean. Clean, sanitize, restock, and store items according to procedures.
- Complete opening, ongoing, and closing checklist duties daily. Perform all duties timely and effectively per company policies.
- Follow cash register procedures as instructed. Balance register at shift start and end.
- Pick up and deliver food, clear plates, and handle dirty dishes.
- Secure all monies during and after each shift.
- Observe health code practices.
- Keep supervisor informed of problems or unusual matters and take corrective action when needed.
- Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and vendors to foster a cooperative environment.
- Maintain a positive image of the company to promote its aims and public recognition.
- Respond calmly to disgruntled guests and notify a manager.
- Inform manager of stock and supply needs.
- Attend shift meetings as scheduled.
- Assist other staff as needed.
