The Delta Hotels Minneapolis Northeast is seeking a part-time, hourly Bartender.
As a premier Northeast destination restaurant, the TC400 Tavern Bartender's primary responsibility will be to take drink orders, prepare mixed drinks, and deliver Remarkable Hospitality to patrons at the bar.
Essential Functions
- Prepare drinks for customers seated at the bar, and for servers placing orders for guests in their service area.
- Serve wine, bottled, craft, and/or draft beer, and liquor.
- Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor, and related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins, and straws.
- Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
- Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
- Create drink recipes.
- Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
- Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays.
- Serve food items to customers seated at the bar.
- Be trained in effective and responsible alcohol service.
- Control guest checks and secure proper payment.
- Complete side and closing duties.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area and clean all glassware.
- Maintain an accurate cash bank and follow established cash handling policies.
- Assist the food service team in all aspects of service.
- Obtain and maintain knowledge of current industry trends related to beverage service.
- Describe all menu items, alcoholic items, pricing, and methods of preparation, with the ability to pass periodic testing requirements.
- Ascend ladders and reach above head for inventory and supply replenishment purposes.
- Assist and serve all guests and co-workers in a sincere, friendly, positive, and courteous manner.
- Communicate clearly and courteously ensuring compliance with remarkable hospitality standards.
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, and exert well-paced activity for up to 4 hours.
- Work in indoor environments with temperature controlled by hotel systems, including extreme hot and cold areas like kitchens and coolers.
- Speak clearly, read, write, and understand workplace languages.
- Lift trays weighing up to 30 pounds regularly.
- Bend, squat, and lift 40 lbs regularly.
- Pull and push carts as needed.
- Work in limited spaces with exerted effort.
- Perform tasks like stooping, twisting, turning, kneeling, crouching, stretching.
- Ascend/descend stairs and uneven surfaces.
- Handle tools and equipment, including cutting fruit.
- Have listening, hearing, and visual acuity.
- Perform manual dexterity tasks.
Additional Job Requirements
- At least two years of bartending experience in a high-volume, upscale, fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age to serve alcohol, with required certifications like TIPS or food handling.
- Dependable attendance and participation in meetings and training.
- Maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance per establishment standards.
- Flexible schedules, including weekdays and weekends, based on business needs.
