DUTIES :

Thepurposeofthispositionistomixandservealcoholicandnonalcoholic beverages.

Prepares a variety of alcoholic drinks by selecting proper premix and garnish where a working knowledge of the various mixed drinks is required.Serves patrons directly or delivers to wait staff.Receives payment,operatescashregister,andmakesandreturnschangetopatronsorwaitstaff.Mayberequired to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability.

Setsupbarforoperation.Ensuresbarisinapresentableandsanitarycondition.Assuresanadequate stock level is maintained, sets up storeroom and work area to permit easy access to stock items.

Maintainsworkareaneatandclean.Washesbarequipment,glassware,andutensilsfollowingproper sanitation procedures. Stocks services bars and assists higher level bartender as required.

Completes required training in the serving of alcohol beverages before starting work.Annual, local refresher training is required and must be documented.Identifies persons who become unruly or who appearintoxicated,resolvestheproblem,orseeksassistanceinaccordancewithestablishedprocedures.

Adherestosafetyregulationsandstandards.Usesrequiredsafetyequipment,andobservessafework procedures.Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.Must have working knowledge of sanitation procedures.

Minimum :

  • Experiencemixingalcoholicbeveragesforretailsale.Completionofabartender’strainingschoolmay be substituted for the required experience.
  • Experiencerecognizingintoxicatedorunrulypatronsandtoresolvingtheproblemorseeking assistance.
  • Experiencefollowingpropercashhandlingprocedures.
  • Must be able to stoop, stand, and walk for long periods of time.Must be physically able to frequently liftobjectsweighing5to10pounds,pullandpushobjectsweighing10to20pounds,andoccasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds.
  • Mustmeettheappropriateminimumagerequirementforworkingwithand/orservingalcoholic beverages.
  • Preferred (in addition to the minimum):

  • Oneyearexperienceasa bartender.
