Job description

ECHO LAKE COUNTRY CLUB
Bartender

Reports to: Dining Room Manager / Supervisor & Banquet and Event Supervisor / Management.

Role Purpose: Echo Lake Country Club, a leading private country club, is seeking creative and forward-thinking, professional bartenders to join our service team. Bartenders are responsible for providing excellent service to members and guests in all dining and event spaces.

Bartending at Echo Lake Country Club (ELCC) should be done with dignity, creating an atmosphere of refinement and good taste. Professional bartending is an equal measure of craftsmanship and showmanship. You must always remember that you are on stage at all times, and therefore care must be taken to not slouch or stand around with your hands in your pockets. Loud voices, foul language, or inappropriate gestures are not tolerated. Appearance is very important for the professional bartender, hair must be combed, fingernails trimmed and clean, uniform clean and starched, breath fresh, etc. A great bartender learns to keep his head on swivel, always looking up and down the bar searching for who he can help next, and making eye contact with each guest to let them know he is aware of them. Never keep your eyes down, or avert your gaze to avoid making contact with a guest, no matter how busy you may be.
A hospitable attitude in all aspects and strong attention to detail is essential. Furthermore, being a bartender and principal provider of a la carte beverages, they are expected to set an example, provide leadership toward, and coaching all support staff (i.e. servers, bussers, runners, expediters, host team, etc.) In addition, the Bartender is responsible for upselling and managing a per member check average (PPA) in line with Management’s expectations.
