Job summary

Join Potomac Family Dining as a Customer Service position primarily responsible for delivering outstanding food and beverage service to bar guests. This role includes managing alcohol service and maintaining cleanliness while providing friendly interactions with customers.

Ideal candidates will have prior bar service experience, a friendly demeanor, and be at least 21 years old. In addition, a high school degree or GED is preferred, and ServeSafe certification is a plus.

This position involves fast-paced work conditions and requires strong communication skills.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: Customer Service orientated position primarily responsible for delivering superior food and beverage service to bar guests within the restaurant according to Potomac Family Dining Group and Applebee’s brand standards for timeliness, accuracy, and guest service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
  • Serves food and drinks to guests in a courteous and timely
  • Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and fruit juice to prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Applebee’s
  • Interacts verbally with all bar guests creating a friendly and upbeat
  • Greet guests, answer questions, makes suggestions regarding food, drinks, and
  • Completes assigned opening and closing side work as
  • Slices fruit and vegetable garnishes for
  • Presents guest checks to bar patrons. Makes correct change and/or completes any necessary credit transactions.
  • Processes employee and manager food
  • Relays food orders to kitchen via the point-of-sale computerized register system in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manages service of alcohol according to all state and federal laws and regulations, as well as company and brand and policies and
  • Participates in the clearing and resetting of the bar
  • May occasionally be scheduled to serve guests in a Carside To-Go
  • Maintains a clean and organized work
  • Ability to explain and demonstrate usage of Tabletop Electronic Devices to
  • Ability to drive sales with suggestive selling techniques, creating a legendary customer experience, developing customer and community relationships to increase guest visit
  • Local Store Marketing participation to drive bar traffic and overall restaurant
  • Removes trash and garbage from bar service area to dumpster

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Friendly and engaging demeanor
  • 21+ years old
  • Prior bar service experience
  • ServeSafe Alcohol Certification a plus
  • Reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required
  • Bi-lingual experience a plus
  • Reliable transportation required
  • High School Degree or GED preferred
  • Ability to build relationships

  • Ability to communicate and behave professionally at all times
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off of the floor, and wipe down booth seats in the bar area of the
  • Transports plates, glasses, and baskets to and from the service bar and kitchen more than 30 times per
  • Mobility required during the entire
  • Transports glass racks and cases up to 25 pounds up to 15 times per
  • Ability to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to four (4) hours in
