Job summary

The Ned's Club Washington DC is seeking an enthusiastic Bartender to join our hospitality team. You will craft and serve cocktails and drinks across guest service bars and service bars, ensuring memorable guest experiences.

Ideal candidates have a passion for drinks, knowledge of cocktails and wines, and comfort with bar inventory and payments. This role requires standing for long periods and availability for evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Good drinks knowledge including cocktails and wines.
• Experience with cocktails and wines is preferred.
• Ability to manage bar inventory and processing payments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve drinks from Ned's menus.
• Be the friendly face on guest service bars and suggest drinks.
• On service bars, prepare orders quickly to support servers.
• Maintain a tidy, presentable bar in clear view of guests.
• Guard drink quality and presentation to Ned standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean bar environment.
• Coordinate with barbacks to support service.

The Ned and Ned's Club are a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas, and restaurants for like-minded individuals to meet, work and have a good time.

Seven years after launching The Ned London in 2017, we are proud to have opened Ned's Club in the US capital, our fourth and newest location.

The Property...

Ned's Club Washington DC is a members' club set over three floors of a neoclassical style building situated within President's Park at 734 15th Street NW. The Riggs Building sits opposite the US Treasury and was constructed in 1930. The 12-story building is located around the corner from the White House and sits above the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream, formerly the historic Riggs Bank Corcoran branch.

The Club has a Rooftop Terrace and Loft Restaurant with views overlooking the White House, US Treasury and Washington Monument, plus a Founder's Dining Room, The Library, Drawing Room, Gallery and Conservatory. On level nine, there is a self-contained floor of private event spaces.

Reporting into the Bar management team and as a key part of the food and beverage team you will:

• Prepare and serve up perfectly made drinks from our range of menus
• On our guest service bars you will be the friendly face providing exceptional experiences, along with recommendations and suggested drinks
• On our service bars you will speedily prepare the orders as they come in, keeping our servers and runners stocked with the drinks they need to deliver a seamless experience to our guests
• All of our bars are in full view of the guests so a tidy, presentable, and slick operation is essential
• Be a guardian of drink quality and presentation, never letting anything lower than Ned standards reach our guests
• Maintain a safe and clean bar environment, protecting our guests and your teammates from any possible harm
• Assist and communicate with our barbacks the needs of the bar in an effort to support an extraordinary experience

What you can bring to the role:

• You'll have a fantastic personality, engaging with our customers to give them an exceptional service
• You'll have great all-round drinks knowledge, and ideally experience with cocktails and wines
• A creative flair is always welcome - we host regular cocktail competitions with our winning drinks potentially being added to the menus
• Come with a desire to learn and progress your beverage knowledge and skills as we will have regular spirits, wine, beer and service trainings as part of our monthly learning calendar
• Knowledge of mixology for traditional and creative cocktails
• Accountability in maintaining inventory and processing payments
• Physical ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
• Ability to lift, pull and push a minimum of 35 pounds
• Open availability to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
