Job summary

SSP America is hiring bartenders in Sterling, VA. The role involves taking orders, handling payments, serving a variety of drinks and food items, and keeping the bar area clean and organized. On-demand wage access is available through a partner app, with additional benefits and advancement opportunities.

We offer full-time and part-time positions, great benefits, referral bonuses, and 2 weeks of PTO. Prior bartending experience and certified training are required, along with strong English

Qualifications

• Minimum one year bartending experience required with applicable state/federal/local training certification.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages.
• Verbal and written English language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Process orders and enter accurately into the POS system.
• Receive payment from customers and handle change.
• Serve cold, frozen, and hot drinks as well as a variety of food items to guests.
• Transfer supplies between storage and work areas.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.
• Clean equipment and utensils and manage waste and sweeping duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Here are a few things you can expect when you join our team as a Bartender

• Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.
• Receive payment from the customer and process change.
• Serve cold, frozen, and hot drinks as well as a wide variety of food items to guests.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Ensure that the work area is clean throughout the day.
• Clean equipment and utensils, removes trash, sweep and mop work area, dust and clean.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate For This Position Has

• Minimum one year bartending experience required, including certification by state, federal, or local required training program.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages.
• Verbal and written English language
• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand weights and measurements.
• Brand certification as required.
• Ability to operate a keyboard & point of sale procedures to pre-check and order & close out a check.
• Ability to work and stand in confined spaces for long periods of time.
