Job summary

Big Red Restaurant & Sports Bar in Norfolk, NE is seeking Bartenders to join a fast-paced, full-service bar and restaurant. You will greet guests, craft drinks, handle orders via Toast POS, and maintain a clean, efficient service area.

Ideal candidates are energetic, guest-focused, and able to multitask while handling money and making correct change. Must meet state beverage training requirements and follow all safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Big Red Restaurant & Sports Bar,2101 West Pasewalk Avenuein Norfolk,has an excellent opportunity for bartenders in our high volume, full-service restaurant & sports bar.

We are looking for friendly, outgoing, and energetic candidates as this position is responsible for ensuring guests’ enjoyment. The Bartender should be organized, able to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure. Be guest sensitive and possess a sense of timing. Take pride in personal appearance and show dedication to the job. Display integrity and honesty in all aspects of employment.

Position Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Welcome each guest personally using enthusiastic words, tone, and body language.
• Work as a team with all personnel to maintain an effective yet fun atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service.
• Work with others to keep all areas clean and stocked to the company’s standards.
• Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for guests at the bar and dining room following standard recipes.
• Input drink orders into Toast pos.
• Create and collect guest tabs using credit cards or cash.
• Wash and sterilize glassware.
• Anticipate guests’ needs and follow the half-full rule when offering another drink; remain alert of guests’ signals (raising a hand, looking directly at you, etc.), and acknowledge signals.
• Box and take care of to go orders when needed
• Responsibly serve alcohol and remain aware of guests’ state of intoxication.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Must follow all state requirements and laws.
• Must be proficient with our 29 policy.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Must be at least 19 years of age or older.
• Ability to pass Responsible Beverage Service Training with a score of 90% or better.
• Basic mathematical skills and an ability to handle money and give correct change.
• Possess basic knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, and familiarity with standard drink recipes.
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Must be multi-task oriented.
• Previous experience in the bar industry preferred.
