Job Summary :
Bartenders are dynamic hospitality professionals responsible for all aspects of the customer experience at the bar, including executing beverage recipes to standard for all dining room customers. They work alongside their Bar Backs as a team to ensure warm and accommodating service at the bar.
Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Completing all assigned side work related to setup and breakdown of the bar. Ensuring the bar is well-stocked with glasses, coasters, napkins, straws, ice, liquor, wine, and beer.
- Greeting all customers who visit the bar or enter the restaurant’s dining area.
- Maintaining responsible service of alcohol, including checking IDs for proof of age.
- Making recommendations and answering menu inquiries.
- Taking customer orders with 100% accuracy into the system.
- Providing hospitality and service, including menu spieling and upselling.
- Ascertaining allergies and dietary restrictions, working with management and chefs to ensure safety and enjoyment.
- Preparing cocktails, pouring wines, and running drinks to customers.
- Clearing glassware and making additional beverage sales.
- Having extensive knowledge of classic and house beverages.
- Handling transactions accurately and balancing the cash register.
- Alerting management to customer experience issues.
- Maintaining inventory levels for all bar items.
- Keeping the bar and lounge area clean and adhering to safety standards.
- Completing side work, restocking, and organizing deliveries.
- Ensuring the bar is well-stocked and clean at all times.
- Training new employees as assigned.
- Participating in staff training and development.
- Assisting other restaurant areas when requested.

Qualifications :
- Ability to read, speak, understand, and follow instructions in English.
- Effective communication skills via email and phone.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Positive, results-oriented, team-player attitude.
- Ability to perform duties professionally under pressure in a high-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and health standards.
- Food Handler’s Certification or ability to obtain it.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Legal age to serve alcohol.
- Responsible alcohol service certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Familiarity with POS systems, reservations, inventory management, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Extensive knowledge of classic and house beverages.
Note: The pay range for this position in New York State is $16.50 per hour.
