Job summary

HHM Hospitality in New York, NY seeks a professional Bartender to serve drinks and light food with a focus on guest satisfaction. You will verify IDs, prepare beverages to standard recipes, and accompany service in bar and lounge areas as needed.

Qualifications

• Bartending/mixologist experience required or equivalent training.
• TIPS certification is a plus.
• Food Sanitation certificate is a plus and must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• High school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve beverages and/or food in a friendly, courteous and timely manner to achieve guest satisfaction.
• Check IDs to verify age for alcohol purchases.
• Prepare and serve drinks and/or food orders.
• Take orders and serve/clear food and beverages when seated at tables in bar/lounge areas where applicable.
• Issue guest checks and process payments.
• Follow standards for identifying and managing intoxicated guests.
• Assist with beverage inventory and maintaining par levels.
• Complete required side work before shift end.
• Support guest satisfaction scores and HHM EarthView sustainability practices.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and MSDS/OSHA standards.

Beverage Manager/Restaurant Supervisor - Restaurant Manager - Food & Beverage Manager

Your Focus

• Maintain clean and organize bar areas.
• Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
• Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
• Prepare and serve drink and/or food orders.
• If applicable, take orders, and serve and clear food and beverage to guests seated at tables in bar and lounge areas.
• Issue guest check and complete payment process.
• Follow standards for identifying and managing intoxicated guests.
• Complete beverage requisitions to maintain par levels as needed.
• Complete required side work prior to shift end.
• Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
• Assist with taking beverage inventory.
• Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM's EarthView program.
• Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Your Background and Skills

• High school diploma preferred.
• TIPS certified a plus.
• Previous bartending/mixologist experience required or equivalent training.
