Job summary

AZ Brew & Café Azul is looking for a multi-function server/bartender/barista to ensure guests have a great dining experience. You will greet guests, take orders, prepare drinks, and provide timely service across bar, events, and room-service deliveries.

The role requires experience in serving and making drinks, plus Barista duties. Training includes Starbucks beverages, with a flexible schedule in a hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Previous server, barista or bartending experience preferred.
• Food Handlers Certificate required.
• Must have tips certification and meet state age requirements for tending bar.
• High School diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, take orders, and serve drinks with excellent time management.
• Prepare specialized drinks per company recipes.
• Address and resolve customer issues politely; escalate to manager as needed.
• Time service to dining pace and replenish beverages as needed.
• Balance cash register at start and end of each shift.

(As well as any other property hosted event as requested and scheduled). As a Barista, you are responsible for preparing and serving coffee and other beverages to customers. Other duties include help taking orders, making drinks, and providing timely service to customers, as well as a room service delivery component.

• Greet customers take their orders and use excellent time management and organizational skills to prepare and serve drinks.
• Prepare specialized drinks per company recipe guidelines.
• Address and resolve customer issues in a polite and effective manner; enlist manager or shift supervisor as necessary.
• Timing the service of courses corresponds with the dining pace of the guests.
• Replenish beverages when necessary and check with guests to make sure they are satisfied.
• Handle an assigned house bank and follow all cash handlingprocedures as per hotel standard.
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
• Assist with inventory and inventory control.
• Carry out tasks with attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety.
• Understand the operation of the POS system.
• Maintains presence behind the bar.
• Have full knowledge and understanding ofthe menus.
• Mixing, garnishing, and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to company specifications.
• Adhere to all local and national liquorlaws.
• Check identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age.
• Ensure clean glasses, bar equipment, and working areas.
• Order and restock as needed.
• Balance the cash register at the start and close of each shift.
• As part of the bar, we proudly serve Starbucks hot and cold beverages. Starbucks training will be provided.

Work environment

• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Hotels operate 24/7 therefore schedules may at times fluctuate based on the needs of the business.
• Standing, walking, bending, stretching, twist, or lifting as much as 25lbs. throughout your scheduled shift and at times as much as 45lbs. or more (tables, kegs, chairs).
• Always in uniform and well-groomed with name badge and required pins.
